OILERS SIGN FORMER EXPRESS CAPTAIN HUNT

Former Express Captain Brad Hunt has signed a 2 year deal with the Edmonton Oilers. The deal re-unites Hunt with his first professional coach and current Oilers General Manager Craig Mactavish.

The Ridge Meadows native has played 79 games over the past two seasons with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL registering 5 goals and 33 points.

He played with the Express for two seasons from 2006-08 when the franchise was located in Burnaby. He was team captain in 07-08 where he set a then Express record for most points in a season by a defenceman with 55 points and adding 16 goals which is still an Express franchise record for most goals in a season by a defenceman.

He followed his BCHL career spending 4 years at Bemidji State University where he would have decorated career. He scored 24 goals and 112 points in 150 career games, numbers that would make Hunt the highest scoring defenceman in Bemidji State hockey history. He was league rookie of the year in 2009, a two time All College Hockey America pick. He helped lead the Beavers to two NCAA tournaments and a Frozen Four appearance in 2009.

Following his collegiate career in 2012, he signed a Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Chicago Wolves and played 14 games with the Wolves to finish the 2011-12 season.
