Blake Hayward had one of the best scoring chances of the game, but somehow couldn't bang home a loose puck in front of the net. Hayward would make amends however in the dying seconds of the second period by snapping home a shot from the left wing assisted by Mitch Newsome and Owen Stout.
Jake Toor added his second of the net converting a pass from behind the net from Brett Didyk for a 4-1 Express lead.
