The Coquitlam Express have signed defencemen Kabir Gill and Juliano Santalucia for the 2018-19 season.
Gill, (00), spent the previous three seasons with the Valley West Hawks of the BC Major Midget league. During the 2017-18 season the White Rock native served as the captain of the Hawks. In 26 games, he had 4 goals and 16 assists for 20 points.
In 2016, he was a member of the Hawks team that won the BC Major Midget league championship. He was a 5th round draft pick of the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2015 WHL Bantam draft.
Santalucia, (01), is coming off his first season of junior hockey with the Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL. In 45 games, he had 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points.
In 2016-17, he played under Express assistant coach Jamie Jackson with the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs of the BC Major Midget League. That season he had 4 goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 40 games.
The Express begin their season Friday night in Surrey.
