The Express opened up the pre-season with a convincing 5-1 win over the Surrey Eagles at the Coquitlam Sports Centre Friday night.
Coda Engbar had a great debut for the Express scoring a hat-trick. He was helped out by linemates Justin Georgeson and Mitch Nardi. Between the three of them, they combined for 8 points with 3 goals and 5 assists.

Alex Kerfoot and Josh Finkelstien scored the other two Express goals. The powerplay had a strong night for the Express finding the back of the net 3 times on 8 opportunites.
Veteran Robert Lindores scored the Eagles lone goal in the second period on the powerplay.
Jared Rathjen and Phoenix Logan Hill split the duties in the Express crease. While Wade Moyts and Glenn Ferguson did the same for the Eagles.
The pre-season for the Express continues Saturday in Chilliwack. The Eagles will look to get a measure of revenge on the Express when the teams meet again Sunday afternoon at the South Surrey Arena.
