All three Express goals came on the powerplay, but one of Surrey's 7 goals also came while the Express were on the powerplay.
Surrey had little trouble with the Express with Robert Lindores scoring twice and 5 other Eagle players had multiple point nights as the Eagles won their 6 straight meeting with the Express.
The Eagles fired 48 shots on Khaleed Devji compared to 34 sent the way of Karel St. Laurent.
Destry Straight, Massimo Lamacchia and Alex Petan all scored with the extra man. But at even strength the Express weren't able to generate much.
The Express and Capitals remain in a stalemate in the race for the final playoff spot as the two teams still remain tied after Victoria knocked off Cowichan Valley 5-1.
Coquitlam and Surrey will play their second of a home and home Friday night in Coquitlam. Cowichan Valley will wrap up their season and home Friday to the Powell River Kings.
