AS THE CALENDAR TURNS TO OCTOBER

Well, the calendar has turned to October.

Looking ahead for the Burnaby Express, the schedule will give this team a good test.

They begin with a home game Saturday night vs. Nanaimo then in Surrey Sunday night.

6 of the first 7 games are vs. teams that have winning records and are contenders in the BCHL.

The Express will play 3 games vs. Nanaimo, 2 against Langley, and a single against RBC hosts the Victoria Grizzlies.

Those 3 teams have a combined record of 17-6-1-1 record after the month of September.

Next weekend the Express will head up and down the island starting Friday the 10th in Nanaimo, then heading down to Victoria, then back to Nanaimo for an afternoon game.

Nanaimo's Frank Crane Arena certainly hasn't been kind to the Express. They are winless there in franchise history in the regular season. The lone win came in game 1 of the 2007 second round series between the Express & Clips.

Following that is a home and home series for the Express against the Langley Chiefs October 16th & 17th.
