Cole Huggins made it a pretty easy decision for the BCHL when it came to handing out their first player of the week honor of the season. He posted back to back shutouts to open the season at the 2012 BCHL Showcase. He made 40 saves in a 1-0 win over Victoria Friday. Then followed that up with a 3-0 win over Cowichan Valley Sunday.

Huggins posted an unblemished recored at the BCHL Showcase as he turned aside 74 shots in two games including all 40 in a 1-0 overtime win agains the Victoria Grizzlies where he was named 2nd Star.
The Englewood, Colorado native followed that up with a 34-save effort in a 3-0 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals and was named 1st Star.
